Fashions Evolution...

We usually do all of our editorial shoots ourselves, so it was so much fun to work with  photographers Lauren Weissler and Danielle Rocks!  We love studying the evolution of fashion, and its obvious that todays trends are heavily influenced by classic vintage style.
Here's our favorite looks throughout the decades....

1940s and 50s ...The fashion was all about pretty, feminine and glamorous style. The fitted waists and full skirts brought a touch of glam to any wardrobe. This era strongly influences todays higher end stores (like Anthropologie) especially with the Mad men/retro craze. You can definitely see how they bring reference to a woman's figure in the flattering silhouette of the 40s and 50s.

1960s and 70s...Flowy skirts, fringe tops, big floppy hats and ethnic prints all say Bohemian Chic. This trend is still very strong in today's fashion This was the time when women felt free to express themselves through fashion, and the clothes really spoke their truth. Free People does a great representation of this trend in many of their designs.

1980 and 90s... The fashion during this time was all about individuality, lots of bright colors, big hair, bold statements...even grunge!  There were no rules to fashion in these decades. Today, we can implement trends from the 80s and 90s with one or two strong statement pieces. Actress Lisa Bonet is a perfect example with her amazing ethnic prints, bright colors and multi textured layers. She truly wasn't afraid to make a "fashion statement."
For us, no matter what the decade, we adore it all!
