Southwestern Romance

Here at Lotus Vintage, we're such lovers of nature's beauty. Recently during our store renovation, we  were reminded of how much we loved Southwest America. The colors, the style, the rustic beauty. There is nothing more inspiring than the Southwest, and its influence in decor and apparel is absolutely mesmerizing.

Our Top 10 Scream Queens

What would a horror movie be without it's quintessential scream queen? Most classics have the one female protagonist who knows how to raise the hair on your skin with their blood curdling scream and looks great while doing it! So in honor of Halloween we've put together our top ten classic horror movie babes below.

Jamie Lee Curtis - Halloween

Poor Laurie Strode just can't escape Michael Myers even after numerous sequels!

Drew Barrymore - Scream
Barrymore believes she was just playing an innocent game with a prank caller only to find that the joke's on her.

Shelley Duvall - The Shining
Nothing is more horrifying than the man you trusted turning into a maniac and coming after you with an axe. We feel for ya girl!

Marilyn Burns - Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Her brother is chainsawed through his stomach, her best friend is hung on a hook and thrown into a freezer, but Burns will not go without a fight.

Sissy Spacek - Carrie
Hopefully this movie stops bullying for good...otherwise beware the wrath of the girl you threw spit balls at in math class.

Janet Leigh - Psycho
Poor Janet Leigh doesn't even make it to the first half of the film before being killed off. To this day showering can still be a bit terrifying.

Sarah Michelle Gellar - I Know What You Did Last Summer
Getting all your hair chopped off in the middle of the night will surely drive a girl insane...especially a former beauty queen.

Mia Farrow - Rosemary's Baby
Imagine giving birth to Satan's baby? We'd scream our face off too!

Camille Keaton - I Spit On Your Grave
Though very disturbing to watch, the end is totally worth your time. (hint: it involves the most bad ass revenge ever!)

Elsa Lanchester - Bride of Frankenstein
One of the best shrills of horror movie history!

Happy Halloween folks!

All Is By My Side

A year after it's premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival the British-Irish biopic film Jimi: All Is By My Side is finally being released in the states. It's set to hit theaters September 26th and stars André 3000 as the legendary Jimi Hendrix. André steps into Hendrix's shoes and transforms into a rock god effortlessly. His look alone is so close to Hendrix it's almost scary!

The film focuses on Hendrix's pre-fame years as he navigates his career from playing backup guitar in New York City to gaining recognition in Swinging London. Jimi Hendrix will forever remain as one of the most influential guitarists in the history of music. A close second to his guitar playing, was a unique sense of style that was truly his own.

Here's some of our very favorite Hendrix moments

Dont forget to check out All Is By My Side this weekend. Here's a sneak peek trailer to hold you over until then.
