Girl Crush Wednesday: Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey has molded herself into an American icon. Within just three short years she has sold more than 12 million singles globally and received two Grammy nominations. Her current album Ultraviolence has gone number one in over 14 countries and as of July has sold more than one million copies worldwide. The kind of unique elegance that Lana has embodied was influenced by the likes of Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and Nancy Sinatra. She's taken these inspirations to a whole new level and incorporated them not only into her nostalgic sound but within her personal style as well.

Whether she's rocking distressed denim with a band tee and a leather jacket, or her signature long Brigitte Bardot-inspired hair with a retro dress she's got a strong grasp on her image and continues to take advantage of her creative vision.

Birds of a Feather

We've always had a thing for feathers, and lately it seems like we're not the only ones! Though they've become a huge trend, feathers have a deeper meaning. They represent truth, peace, strength, change and freedom. Feathers of various shapes and colors have always been embraced by the boho community and continue to inspire personal freedom.

Our Boho Wedding Guide

It's officially summer and you know what that means? Wedding season! Some of the most special weddings are the unconventional ones that use unique do-it-yourself methods to create a warm and loving atmosphere. A bohemian wedding is a unique alternative to an upscale ceremony and instead focuses on the small details that make it refreshingly beautiful.

Take a look at our list of boho essentials to make your wedding extra special...

Decor: Sometimes it's all in the details. For the ultimate boho wedding you can use a variety of interesting items as display pieces. Mason jars filled with flowers, colorful fabric streamers or hanging lanterns add a fun and romantic vibe.

Flowers: What would a bride be without her flowers? For a boho wedding you can either have a beautiful bouquet of mixed wild flowers or a simple collection of little white flowers.

Hair: Any girl knows that your hair on this special day has to be perfect, but instead of doing a strict updo let you locks flow free like a true boho goddess! Add a unique flower crown and some braids to complete the look.

Dress: The best part has arrived...picking the dress! For a boho wedding it's best to opt out of the conventional princess gowns and instead go for a more relaxed look. Our online stores have a great selection of unique wedding dresses from Mexican embroidered pieces to bohemian maxi's.

Here's to your happily ever after!

Summer Sunnies

If there's one thing every girl needs during the summer it's a great pair of sunglasses, or why not a whole collection instead? We get to protect our eyes from UV rays and look super cute while doing it! Whether you're having a bad face day or just want to stay cool in some funky shades, sunglasses are essential for sunny summer days.

Here's a collection of some of our favorite sunnies...

1. Free People Rococo Sunglasses: Cat eye sunglasses will never go out of trend. A basic black pair will go with literally every outfit. Our motto is the more over-sized the better and with a pair of large cat eyes you'll feel like the coolest chick around!

2. Lotus Vintage 70s Clear Sunglasses: What makes these extra unique is that they don't have the typical frame that most modern sunglasses have, and instead are a clearer pinkish color that gives it a very retro vibe. Here are some other examples...

3. Marshall's Leopard Print Cat Eyes: Why pay more? Marshall's has a great selection of sunglasses in all shapes and sizes. If you dig through you'll find the perfect pair for you. Leopard print comes in and out of the fashion world but if you're going to work the bold print then you might as well sport the sexy cat eye look.

4. Free People White Cat Eyes: Can you tell we have an obsession here? We already have black and leopard print...so of course we'll need a white pair of cat eyes too!
Free People also has a great collection of unique sunglasses, so there's really no way to walk out of the store without buying a pair.

Here's Audrey Hepburn and Rihanna rocking the timeless cat eye.

5. Michael Kors Oversized Round Glasses: Michael Kors sunnies are for days when you really want to treat yourself. This high end pair is your basic round over-sized sunglasses for when you're feeling a little boho chic.

6. Black Clubmaster Sunglasses: You don't get more hip than these ray ban-esque sunglasses. You can find these on a Hollywood A-lister or on some hipster in Brooklyn. Though their popularity may have died down over the years these sunglasses can still make any outfit look good.

Below is Scarlett Johansson and model Agyness Deyn sporting these cool shades.

7. Vintage 70s Black Aviators: Aviators looked a whole lot different back in the day. They didn't have that exaggerated low rim and as we all know subtly goes a long way. Pair these sunnies with some denim jeans and a rocker tee and you're good to go.

8.  Vintage 80s Police Sunglasses: Though these may not be the most popular, they are certainly the most special. These 80s police sunglasses were passed down by my aunt and I can only imagine all the cool places she wore them to in her 20s.

Here's a photos of her wearing them while on a boat in Turkey.

So go grab the perfect pair for you and enjoy a day in the sun.
P.S. Don't forget the sunblock!
