How We Do Winter...

We love to wear our Summer clothing all year long...but living in New York, that could be a real challenge (especially lately!) Luckily, we've become pretty creative at extending our wardrobe through the cold months...we just pile on the layers!
We took two of our favorite looks currently in our store & showed how to wear them three different ways as the temps dropped!

Look #1
Start with a super girly sun dress & platform sandals....

We added a pair of tights and one of our favorite hats

Then layered an awesome maxi cardigan (thanks to Betsy Johnson!)
and boho boots

Look #2
Adorable Gunne Sax prairie skirt, tank & JC's

Add a perfectly broken in fitted denim shirt

Grab your favorite knit beanie and crop sweater
 to complete the look!

There you have it....a few quick ways to Winterize your wardrobe.
Remember, you can't have too many layers!
And for us... we'll just keep dreaming of Spring!

Frida Kahlo Clothing Exhibit

We've always been huge fans of Frida Kahlo! When we heard that her clothing was going to be shown, we were thrilled! We truly admire her spirit, talent and unique fashion sensibility that still inspires so many today.
Almost six decades after her death, the closet of  Frida Kahlo has been opened and is on display at the Casa Azul, Frida Kahlo Museum in Mexico City in an exhibit titled Appearances Can Be Deceiving: The Dresses of Frida Kahlo
Her treasures remained hidden partially because her husband, Diego Rivera was so concerned that anyone who entered her closet would ruin what was inside. Untouched till 2002, when museum curators opened it, there were over 300 items including love letters, photographs, perfumes, boots and jewels. Her colorful embroidered skirts, floral headpieces and jewelry were heavily inspired by her Mexican heritage. In addition, much of Frieda's clothing still had traces of her paint, her cigarettes and perfume!

We're hoping to plan a trip so we can get to experience a part of this amazing woman's life!
